This past week we went to Southern California to put our toes in the sand, jump over waves and start the celebration of Presley being done with treatment! When we left our make-a-wish trip last year they gave us a World Passport that gave us a day pass to most attractions (like Legoland, zoo and Six Flags!) We decided to take the kids and enjoy the San Diego Zoo, Legoland and the beach!
Our first stop...La Jolla Shores. Just a little beach therapy is what we all need! I love taking my children on vacation. Why? So many reasons but my main reason, they get me with no distractions! My undivided attention! I have nothing on my list of things to do! Well... explore and find good food, but they don't complain about those things to do! Traveling with kids can be a pain and is hard work but its all worth the family memories that we get. Nothing replaces it! My heart is full. This little family of my makes me so happy!
Collecting shells, jumping waves and toes in sand after a 4 hour drive was perfect! Presley loves to collect shells and Crew loves the sand!
Here are my "twins", every where we go I get asked "are they twins?" They are not twins but they share a special bond. They don't really know or understand it but they have a love I cant explain. They are best of friends. They do everything together. They have been there for each other when life was hard.
Playground on the beach, YES PLEASE! Kellogg Park is right by La Jolla Shores beach. A playground with sand and not bark chips. This is my all time favorite park! As I'm down loading these pictures and writing this blog our theme song from this trip is running through my mind!
Maroon 5- Sugar
"Im going to be needing your love!"
Sugar...Yes Please!
After a few hours we headed to do a little exploring. I didn't want the kids to miss the seals! So we headed to Children's Pool. Watching the seals lay on the beach, swim and walk was so much fun. The kids could have stayed all day! Its pup season so we had to stay behind the wall and just watch. We were only a few days from being able to walk closer to them. La Jolla California is beautiful. The coastline and beaches are some of my favorite!
We listened and watched for a while and then walked to La Jolla Cove to see Seal Rock and explore the caves. We found a seal pup hanging out. Its was fun to see the pup up close.
Always cleaning our feet with the sand!
A quick stop at Bobboi Natural Gelato and then a little drive to southern San Diego to check into the resort!
