When
the mercury tops the century mark in Vegas, cooler temps are only a short drive
away. Mt. Charleston is a haven for hikers, nature lovers, mountain bikers, and
anyone seeking relief from the summer heat! Only 45 minutes from the Strip, being
able to escape the heat, take in the serene views of the limestone outcroppings
, ponderosa pines and seeing the old bristlecone pines was the perfect day! We
started the day with a short kid friendly hike! We found
treasures, collected wild flowers, catch lizards and eat lunch on the hike. The
kids enjoyed exploring and playing while a cold breeze was blowing! After the
hike we drove all the way up the canyon until we hit the ski resort. We stopped
for pictures and then headed down to the lower meadows. there we saw the wild
horse, play with sticks, dirt and to kids were able to run free! The meadow was a great place to
stop and hang out! We then headed back to the town of Mt. Charleston and
enjoyed the greenery of the town of Mt. Charleston. We had a great time playing with
daddy. He finally has a set day off and it's been great to have him off for the
weekends!
