For the 4th this year we spent the morning at the parade with another pilot family. Our husbands had to work so we took all the kids to the morning parade in Boulder City! It's a water fight parade. The first few floats are a water free zone but all of the floats at the end bring any sort of water gun, hose you name it, to get the audience wet! But the fun part is the audience also packs in water and drenches the floats! Fun tradition for what could have been a very hot, miserable celebration! The kids and I took LONG afternoon naps and then went swimming.
Daddy got off at 7 and then we headed to the Boulder City Airport to watch the firework show. Paul brought his BOSE and had all the patriotic songs downloaded so we could listen to them while the fireworks were going off! That really made the night very patriotic! Two Thumbs up! I can still see the kids singing "It's a Party in the USA!" The kids loved their treat bags I got them with a mix of red, white and blue candy from WinCo and the glow bracelets, sparklers and poppers! I am so proud to be an American. I'm thankful for my freedoms and for those that fought for what we enjoy today! God Bless America!
