Laguna Love

My little slice of paradise is Laguna Beach! It was my 2nd annual cousin trip! This tradition has been going for more than 5-7 years but up until now I lived too far away or had a young baby. I love this little trip to the beach each year with my Grandma, mom, aunts and cousins. I look forward to this trip. We stay at the Pacific Edge Hotel with beach access and right off PCH. Getting to go in the summer is great because the free trolley is running. Beaching, exploring, finding good food, going back to some of our favorite places, making memories and being with family make it just perfect! This year my mom picked me up and we drove to Laguna on Tuesday. We got to the beach around noon and then checked into our rooms. That night we hang out and eat lots of tacos from Taco Bell and visited with Kathleen and Steve Bell (they are cousins that live locally and her dad started Taco Bell, so that would explain the boxes and boxes of tacos!)

The next day was our first full day at the beach. We started our morning off with our favorite tradition of Orange Inn. They are know for homemade orange muffins, fresh orange juice and great breakfast! Then to the beach! We played in the ocean, sun bathed, talked and talked more! For an afternoon snack we got the Acai bowls...yummy. Fresh fruit blended up and topped with granola, fruit, coconut shreds and honey! Its the perfect snack. I did a little exploring and checking out of the shops and just walking up and down PCH! I love to go to the end of the shuttle ride and hand out at the Montage at Laguna Resort. The grounds there are just stunning. I also love just riding the trolley up and down the coast line. It's nice just for a few days to feel free, to feel like it was as a teenager, with no worries! For dinner most of us went to Wahoos! We stayed up late talking and laughing and going to be so tired from a full day of sun and fun.

The next morning we went to Orange Inn and then headed for the beach. The cabana boys always have our chairs and loungers ready with towels and umbrellas. The resort we stay in is just south of main beach. I love the atmosphere of the beach cities, so laid back! For lunch I ventured to the main part of town to the Scandinavian bakery. This was a place I wanted to try last year but did not get a change. It was great. I had a little chicken salad but what I really went for was their eclairs. Yummy! I then jumped on the north coast trolley. Last year I did a lot of exploring of the south part of Laguna and this year I wanted to check out Crescent Bay and all the good snorkeling spots. I also stopped and walked Heisler Park. Beautiful outlook of the ocean and bay. We couldn't have asked for better weather! 75-80 with a coastal wind, this was heaven from the hot 110 Vegas heat.
Back to the beach to play in the waves one last time! I wanted to soak it all up! We jumped waves, for hours! After shower and dinner and a little souvenir shopping I took the 10:00 pm flight from SNA (John Wayne) to LAS. I missed out on the morning breakfast and drive home but needed to get home as Paul only had two days off and Grandpa was in charge for day 3! Presley was at camp and time for mom to be back home! The trip to Laguna was perfect! Thanks Grandma for this fun little trip. I can't wait for next year! I'm sad I did not get a group photo. I had my camera out a lot but I also spent more time this year playing in the water and being a beach bum!
