Daddy always takes the night shifts, so mommy can get some sleep. I was able to get up and shower and then head to the hospital around 11. The first thing Crew said this morning when I got him out of his crib is "Dede (sister)?" He was very concerned. He understand and knows so much it's unreal.
Nothing has come back yet and her fever has not shown back up since 5am so things are looking good to go home tomorrow. The doctors will make that decision in the morning. When they take one look at her...they are going to send her home! Presley was also given a blood transfusion today. On Tuesday at clinic her hematocrit was 23 and today it dropped to 20 so...this girl needed blood. She was pale and tired! After the 4 hour blood transfusion she rode her bike up and down the hospital halls for a good hour with so much energy! Thanks BLOOD you helped Presley feel better. The real thanks goes to the blood donor! You gave life today! The selfless act to donate blood for my daughter. Wish the name of the donor was on the bag and I could call them personally and thank them!
You should have seen those eyes when her favorite nurse showed up to visit today! Kristin from clinic came to visit Presley! What a fun treat. Have I told you how much Presley loves these nurses? I think they like her too! Thanks Kristin you give so much more than just a 40 hour work week.
I took over the day shift and then daddy and Crew came back to have dinner together. We spent a good hour riding our Striders. Presley was able to get unhooked from the IV pole and wear a mask so she could get out of that tiny room for a bit. Her Strider bike has been such a huge part of her cancer journey! So the blood transfusion took about 3 hours and then chemo! After chemo she was unhooked and then off to her bike! It still amazes me her strength to fight back with the nasty drugs she gets. She is Presley Strong!
Kristin (her nurse at clinic) came to visit Presley! What a fun surprise! |
She loves to use her gel pens and write the letter "P". She knows how to write all the letters in her name but usually only write the P! |
An hour before this she had no energy! After getting blood she was ready for her Strider! |
After the blood transfusion she was ready to play! |
