Day 5 - Universal Studios

Today was a special celebration at the village. It was Founders Day (Henri's Birthday) and to celebrate they had a groundbreaking ceremony.  In one year the new Town Hall building will be up and running.

We were asked to do an interview with the local news. They asked what it was like at GKTW. I never seems to have the right words. "It's amazing." They put their heart and soul into our children. How can you describe how that really feels? Our children endure so much, they have given back to all that has been taken from these kids that stay at GKTW.

Crew loved the shovel and the attention from Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry. 

We then headed to Universal Studios

We did the Minion ride first. This is a 3-D ride and normally the kids are too small but for this ride but they have stationary seating for the kids under the height requirement. At one point in the show/ride it simulated being on a roller coaster. Presley looked at me and asked "Are we on a roller coaster?" I said "YES" she put her hands up in the air and started to scream. They loved this ride!

We then did Simpson...this was for daddy!

Then we went to the Kid Zone. They had a roller coaster for Presley! Crew was too small...he was so sad. We had to distract and get him doing something he could do! We walked around in the Curious George play area.  Presley rode the roller coaster 4 times. Over and over! 

Next we all did the ET ride. 

Daddy did the Transformers! 

Sister wanted to go so bad. She kept telling me..."But this is my wish trip and I want to go!" Silly girl..that ride was way too intense for you. She's a little thrill seeker! Love that about her. Both of the kids are. I don't know why?? Maybe it's from daddy?? 

We then did the Minion ride again!

We went home and took naps today! It was late but the kids needed them. I did a lot of porch sitting! I loved this part of the day!

Our usual carousel ride, dinner, and then ride the carousel again!

That morning the gift fairy left the Candyland game GKTW version. They also left an invitation for a tea party! Presley was so excited to get to dress up as a princess. They served pink lemonaid and cookies.  

 After the tea party was the pirate and princess party. Crew has become quite the pirate lately! He stole the show. He was beyond excited when they gave him a light up sword and an eye patch. Both Presley and Crew danced and had a great time. Crew was such a cute little pirate!

We went home and got a bath and got our jammie's on! A knock came to the door! It was Mayor Clayton! He was in his jammies too. He was there to tuck the kids into bed. It was more like...get them all hyper and giggling and then leave them for us to tuck in. He was so cute. Crew and Presley thought  that was the coolest thing that had ever happened to them! They were already fans of Mayor but that sealed the deal! From that point on when they saw Mayor Clayton at the village they got so excited! 

The characters don't talk..but this is how they would express that they loved something. They would point and put their hands are their heart. Mayor Clayton was telling us he loved the kids! We love them too!
