Today we were able to see a whole other side of Orland. When most people picture Orlando they picture Disneyworld. We love Disney but wanted to see some of Florida's wetlands and wildlife.
We took the kids on an airboat ride flying through swamps and the central Florida wetlands at speeds of 45 mph. Boggy Creek Airboat Rides gives tickets to GKTW for the wish families to come and take a ride while they are here in Florida.
We idled along canals finding birds, turtles, cows and baby alligators
Both of the kids wanted to keep going on the boat ride when it came to an end.
After the ride we got to hold a baby alligator. Crew especially liked this part!
Off to enjoy another Florida treasure...the beach. So glad we extended this trip so we could explore Florida a bit before we left. Paul and I have been to Florida before, but just to load the curise ship. We always like to do a little exploring.
We went to the famous Cocoa Beach. We got a few picture at the pier and walked the boardwalk but found a less crowed area to hang out at the beach.
Here is Crew walking on sand for the first time. We all loved the beach. This was one of the highlights from the trip. We spent a few hours on the beach playing with the sand, swimming and jumping the surf.
Crew had a shovel and thats all he needed. Sorry to the lady next to us trying to work on a tan. Sun tanning oil and sand is not the best comb. She picked the spot right by the 2 year old digging in sand. Presley was doing sand angles in the sand. She really loved rolling around in the sand collecting seashells and jumping the surf with daddy.
We then walked to the worlds largest surf shop. I was in heaven. I was dreaming of a beach life! We went to the Ron Jon's Surf Shop at Cocoa Beach.
Thanks for such a wonderful post.
