When Emily told me that Fox 31 wanted to interview me, I didn't know what to think, let alone what I would say!  At 2pm today, Deborah Takahara met us at the barn to interview me. What a sweet lady! It was great to spend the afternoon with her. We talked about our story and how Emily (owner of Sunshine 7) knew each other and got connected. When Emily and Curtis Graves found out about Presley's diagnosis,  they contacted us to tell us that Presley would be the beneficiary of the upcoming barn event in April. This is the second time they have opened up their barn in the name of "giving back".  Emily and Curtis Graves have their own amazing story to share. The barn is named Sunshine 7, because of the seven people they both lost in separate car accidents. Emily lost her husband and 2 of her four children in a car accident in Idaho, and Curtis lost his wife and three children in a car accident in Wyoming. About 5 years later they met and got married. Emily and Curtis, then had a little boy together.  As I said in the news clip, Emily has given me strength throughout all of my trails. When I think of Emily I think of a strong amazing woman. Emily, after losing her husband and her two oldest children, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer while in the hospital helping her surviving  daughter recovering from the accident. Emily lost so much, and then endured cancer treatment herself. Emily came into my life for a reason, she is such an example of hope to us.
Some of the questions I answered during the interview I felt like I nailed them, others I didn't even know what to say. I feel like those are the segments that were captures on the news, the ones that show the emotion so strong that I didn't even have words.
The camera crew followed us around for about an hour and interviewed us. We were worn out by the end, but when the 9pm news came on that night it was so worth it.
I'm lost with words and feelings. I can't describe what it felt like to see my baby girls face on TV and the sweet story to follow. I cried, we watched the clip 5 or 6 times. I cried each time.
Thanks Fox 31 Denver News, I will forever cherish that clip and news write up of our sweet baby girl and her fight with Leukemia. Thanks Graves Family.  I don't know how I will ever repay you for what you have done for us.
