Presley: Sunshine 7 -Friday

Where do I even begin or end? How do I give today's events justice? My heart is so full. I knew when I walked in the barn, and looked at all the orange, and decorations that so much effort was put into today for Presley and I to feel so loved. They even did all this not knowing we would get to attend the event. I'm so thankful we were able to be here. Words can't describe this experience. Many of you were there, I'm sure you could feel the love and support we felt.

As you walked in the barn on your left there was a table set up with pictures of Presley and our family, a write up of our story, decorated in orange to show support for childhood Leukemia. Every detail of this barn and event was so thought out and just perfect. On the right there were many tables lined up with an item donated from each vendor and a cute jar with a number beside it. Raffle tickets we sold and you put your ticket in the raffle from the item you hoped to take home. The items sold were handmade crochet hats, bows, honey, furniture, artwork, clothes etc. This is the second barn event for Sunshine 7, and this year they had to turn down vendors. My sister in law, Melissa, is organizing a 5K race for Oct 12 in Castle Rock, Colorado and was also able to start getting the word out. Our goal is 500 adult racers or walkers! www.runforpresley.com

The familiar faces from each one of you really made our day. It was great to hug and talk to our "family" in Colorado. Many of the teachers from Soaring Hawk showed up on Friday morning, it was the perfect reunion and of course they all had there orange on. Presley didn't always love talking so much, but was glad to have cousins around to play with. At 2pm we were scheduled to have an interview with Fox 31 Denver News. Presley was dying to get her face painted, like the other kids, but they wanted to film it so we had to wait. She didn't want or understand waiting for a few hours. We had a fun afternoon with the news camera following us around. Fun, but I was so tired by the end of the day. Helping Presley walk and helping her follow every footsteps of her cousins in hard work!

Friday night we met with a group of friends at Smart Cow. All of Presley's friends in one place. It was so good to see everyone, and I sure wish we had the time to go to every ones house and have more one on one time. But thankful for Elizabeth for getting the word out.
Every familiar face and hug really reminded me how many wonderful friends and family we have. We are so thankful for each one of you and those acts of kindness done in our behalf. The calls, texts, packages, blanket, books, gifts, thoughts, meals, the visits and so much more. The love we have felt has really carried us through these difficult and dark days.
