One detail I don't want to forget. As Doctor Fluchel came to share the news that her bone marrow looked clean, his last words were:
Nixa onebay arrowmay ansplanttray ayday!
I love that he didn't want to say the words...Bone Marrow Transplant Day..so in pig latin he said it! Sorta like..knock on wood if you do say it! That gave us a big smile, we agree! Nixa on the bone marrow transplant day!
Doctor Fluchel is always so calm. He's hides his emotions good. That's his job. Thankful for his humor in all this mess. He always knows the right words to say. Thankful for his knowledge and his bedside manner. Words can not express how important it is to have a doctor that you know cares about your little girl. It's been quite the ride, glad we feel confidence in our doctor. I never get the feeling he does not care about little Presley! It's rare to ever get to know your doctor as well as we do. I can hear his voice on the other line. "Hey...Whats going on?" I will never forget the day, sitting on the hospital chair when the finally diagnoses came. Pre-B ALL. In his voice you could tell he cared and would be with us until the end. I will never forget the day he called to tell us "No evidence of disease" and the day he walked in room 4422 to say the "flow is clean". Thankful he has been there on those big days!
