It's official...Make-A-Wish Foundation is granting Presley's wish to see Snow White in Disney World. We leave just under 2 months. I get so emotional even thinking about all that this organization has and will do for our family. The doctors at PCMC have helped healed Presley's body and put her into "remission", a physical healing. MAW (Make-A-Wish) is a different kind of healing but is just as important to our family. Emotional healing is what MAW helps kids and family heal from. MAW gives amazing experiences that off-set all all traumas that Presley has gone through at such a young age.
Thanks in advance MAW for these special memories that Presley will be able to look back a remember the good times along with the bad times. The whole process of making a wish, having it be granted have been so magical. I can only imagine what going on the trip is going to be like. We have be talking, planning and preparing for this trip. Presley has even woke up today asking "Is today the day we go to Disney World?) Oh sweet girl...just under two months is going to be the longest thing you have waited for. Presley is so excited but so am I. I don't know who is more excited. This experience or trip is one you can't buy or duplicate. It's "the trip of a lifetime". We are about to go on a real life fairy tale.
We will be staying at a place called Give Kids the World. A 70-acre resort dedicated to children with life-threatening illness. Their goal at GKTW is to show these kids the best time of their life. They have rides, horse back riding, fishing, ice cream shoppes, all inclusive restaurants, arcades, celebrations of all sorts. The Disney characters tuck the kids in at night, train rides and play grounds. They have amazing pools, parties and Santa comes to celebrate Christmas each and every week! We will be staying in a villa equipped with everything and more that we will need for the week. They say (families that have done this trip) that you could spend the whole week just at GKTW and it would be the best trip.
We then add on to it getting to go to all the parks. Disney also treats the wish kids like gold. We will be given a special button to wear at the parks to indicate she is a wish kid, so we will not have to wait in lines and will get special privileges. Disney has a special wish kid room to use during the day while at the parks if we need some time to just relax.
Presley has no ideas what really about to hit her. I can't wait to watch this sweet girl experience the week of her lifetime. I can't wait to see that magic in their eyes as the kids experience Disney for the first time. We are also so thankful that MAW includes the family as our little Crew and the rest of us also need that emotional healing.
We are planning, reading, getting ready, watching every Disney movie possible, listening to Disney songs, crocheting hats and counting down the days! We got the kids suite cases and Presley has been packing her stuff, I hope the next 7-8 weeks goes by so fast for her sake.
Disney....Where Dreams Come True.
I can't wait to spend a completely stress free week with our family running around in a dream.

So excited for you! There is no family more deserving than yours. I hope this special family trip is everything you have ever dreamed of and more. Presley's smile lights up a room & brings happiness to me every time I see it. I can't even imagine what a week long smile on all your faces would do!?!
ReplyDeleteHope the next several weeks go zooming by. Can't wait to see pictures!
♡ Love you BIG Claverie family! ♡
Yay, yay, yay! Your little girl is the "poster child" for my classroom, pre-k at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School. When they whine about silly things, like paper cuts and bad looks from other kids, I simply point to Presley's picture and tell them to work it out. There are BIG things in the world some precious children have been asked to conquer and they do it with courage and perseverance. You and your family have taught me and my c4 and 5 year olds so much and you don't even know us. XOX
